Current CHERI position

EnSilica is a semiconductor design and IP services company. In March 2026 it described its EnSura secure microcontroller platform as using a CHERI-enabled RISC-V architecture with post-quantum cryptography support, and joined the UK CHERI Adoption Collective as a semiconductor supply-chain participant.

What the supplier offers

EnSilica’s relevant route is product and programme engineering: processor integration, custom SoC design, verification and secure-platform development. The exact deliverable and maturity must be established for the intended programme.

What to verify

1. Architecture

Confirm the processor core, CHERI architecture revision, privilege model, safety targets and post-quantum cryptography configuration.

2. Deliverable

Establish whether the offer is licensable IP, a platform, custom silicon, a development kit or an engineering service, and request its current maturity and availability.

3. Engagement

Define ownership, licensing, toolchain access, software support, assurance evidence, maintenance and handover in the statement of work.

Current sources

Public announcements show active CHERI work, but they do not by themselves establish production availability or suitability for a specific product. Verify those points directly with EnSilica.

Verify availability, maturity, specifications, software support and lifecycle terms with the current platform owner before procurement.

Provider sources

Define an evaluation

Provide a workload, threat model, safety target, software stack and SoC brief, then request a current capability statement tied to named deliverables and evidence.
