Role and purpose

The CHERI Alliance is a neutral, international, not-for-profit community-interest organisation focused on the adoption of CHERI technology. It brings together companies, researchers, open-source communities and public-sector organisations to coordinate work that spans the whole computing ecosystem.

Why coordination is needed

CHERI moves from architecture to impact only when processors, software, tools, specifications, skills and assurance evolve together. The Alliance provides a durable place for that coordination.

How the Alliance works

1. Industry-led collaboration

Members bring real implementation and adoption needs, not only general support for the idea.

2. Shared ecosystem work

Working groups address areas such as software portability, systems integration, standards alignment and communication.

3. Public-interest purpose

The organisation promotes wider adoption while aiming to preserve credible, interoperable and responsibly described technology.

Boundaries and accountability

The Alliance does not make every CHERI implementation equivalent and does not guarantee that a CHERI-enabled product is secure as a whole.
