Brand governance

Trademark and brand use

Use the CHERI name and identity accurately, consistently and in accordance with the current Alliance policy.

Read the current policy first

CHERI is open technology, but use of its name and visual identity is governed by the CHERI Alliance. This page is a practical route to the official material, not permission and not a legal interpretation.

If this page and an official policy differ, the official policy controls.

You may need to name CHERI accurately when describing compatible research, software, hardware or services. Do not imply Alliance membership, endorsement, certification or origin unless that status is current and you are authorised to make the claim. Check the policy before using CHERI in a product, company, service or domain name.

Logos, artwork and certification claims

Use only official logo files supplied by the Alliance and do not redraw, recolour, crop, distort or combine them with other marks. The branding guidelines define approved colour, spacing, size and placement. Certification-style claims and marks have separate conditions; do not create your own equivalent.

If the intended use is not clearly covered, request permission before production or publication. Include the organisation, proposed wording or artwork, media, territories and expected publication date.
